Storyteller Host
Dympna studied History and French at University College Cork before spending a year teaching in France. Upon returning to Ireland while working as a secondary school teacher she dedicated many years to educating and inspiring teenagers in the rich history of Ireland and the World. After completing a Master of Education (MEd) she transitioned to third level where she now works with aspiring history teachers in the Education Department at University College Cork.
A passionate traveller, Dympna has explored the history and Culture of the USA, China and Europe including England, Scotland and Wales. Her love for storytelling led her to begin leading walking tours of Youghal, the historic heritage town where she now lives. She delights in sharing captivating tales of Walter Raleigh, Robert Boyle and Oliver Cromwell’s time there.
In 2012 Dympna qualified as a National Tourist Guide and is a proud member of the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland. Whether in the classroom or as a National Tourist Guide, she brings history and culture to life with engaging and entertaining stories.
